Living by myself* for 14 days

Recently, due to some personal reasons, my parents had to go to Indore for 14 days so I had to move to my sister's house in Pune. This was something I always wanted and still do. I want to reduce my dependency on my parents. I felt very strongly about this till 9th December and was also in a bad mental condition because this was not happening. On Dec 9, I fell off my bicycle and my parents being here was a huge help. After that, I came to peace with the idea of living alone. There will be a lot of opportunities in the future for that. When I stopped thinking about it, my mental health improved and the opportunity presented itself. Though I was not living ALONE, it still was a step up in my opinion. I won't say I was able to remove all of my dependencies but still, I learned things. The most important part was I came up with a routine of small chores to do when I came back from the office.  It involved washing clothes, picking up dried clothes from the balcony, ironing what wa...

Fading tattoo, action figures, XBOX and more....

Image
On 4th February 2023, I finally got the tattoo I always wanted. This item was in my bucket list since I was in school. It is a thumb ring tattoo on my right hand. People ask "how painful was it?". This question is completely useless as different people have different pain thresholds. It was a 6/10 for me but for someone, it can be 9/10 or a 3/10. It depends people!! It was a bitter-sweet experience as a finger tattoo comes at a price. No, I am not talking about the actual cost of the tattoo. Finger tattoos fade. 1 week later, here I am writing this post and I can see the fading already. Technically, its not faded. The ink is light at some areas and dark at some. I was aware of this beforehand. I researched online and it was the case with majority of the people. The tattoo artist warned me that this will not hold up. But I wanted it and I got it. I will deal with what I have now. No regrets. I will be getting more tattoos in future but not on fingers. Even if this one would n...

Wisdom Tooth Extraction 1/2 🔧

Image
Before I came to Pune, I went to my dentist for a routine cleaning. I was also experiencing a little tooth ache especially when I ate anything sweet. He took an X-ray and told me that my wisdom tooth is coming at an angle which is leaning on the tooth before it and causing cavities on that. The only solution for that is removal of the wisdom tooth before it damages the one before it. I did not follow up with him on time and had to come to Pune. The problem started to increase very gradually. I started to have discomfort in eating hard things like chips etc from my tight side so I started using my left side. With the new routine, my habit of flossing reduced. On 2nd January I ate a chocolate from my left side and experienced pain that side too.  That was the point I knew that I am running of sides to chew my food from and its time to pay the dentitst a visit. I did. She told me the same thing. Removal of wisdom tooth from both sides and I did not delayed it any further and boo...

2023 Starts

Image
Its the first day of 2023. Nothing major has happened since the last time I wrote, but I might as well start the year with a quick post to maintain consistency. Here is an update on some of the things I mentioned in previous posts: ZORIN OS: It's been more than an year and I am still using zorin os. It will be my daily driver for a significant amount of time. It also received an update few months ago. I has made me more comfortable with linux and will continue to do so. It is built on ubuntu. Because of this, ubuntu is also now my favourite linux OS. FIDGET CUBE: That cube sits on my office desk every single day. I play with multiple times a day. I take in meetings, randomly start fidgeting with it without even realising it. It also is a great conversation starter. People pick it up and ask what is it. Everyone seems sceptical at first but once they fidget with it, they get it (I hope). People on internet say it helps with anxiety but I don't care if it does or does not. I lik...

332 Days Later.....

Yep, its been almost an year since I wrote a blog. Now you know I was serious when I wrote that "This is not a consistent blog" in my very first post. Countless things have changed in this period of time. Plenty of exciting things to write blogs about but at the end, laziness won. 10 days ago, I even started a blog trying to cover all the things that happened since last I wrote, but I wasn't able to finish that also. So this the second attempt in doing that. I will only be mentioning the major things (in no particular order) that have happened in the last year in one-liners. Let's start: My real sister got married. I relocated to Pune city with my parents for my job. My cousin sister also got married. I visited Imagica theme park and rode multiple scary rides. I danced a lot at one of my company's events. I visited a resort in another outing and again, danced a lot. Made new friends in Pune (my teammates as they are all amazing people). Learnt to setup my Raspbe...

Udaipur Trip Oct 13-16, 2021

Image
I have travelled to a handful of places and I was very young at those times so I barely remember anything. It is safe to say that this is my very first trip. I came to know that majorly there are two types of vacations. One is the "Stay" kind where you are relaxed and just want to hang around in the place where you are staying. The other one is the "Visiting Spots" kind where you spend less time in your place of stay and visit different spots that the place is famous for. Although it's a bit early to say given my personality, I definitely am the person who loves the first kind. I have travelled in trains; again when I was very young so will be considering this as my first train journey too. I won't be describing every single thing that happened in order but will focus on things that I found interesting and things that made me realize stuff. Also, all the pictures included in this particular post are taken by my cousins. I took very few pictures, I wanted to ...

Zorin OS + Photography 📸

I was using Linux virtual machine (Parrot OS) for some time and it was running very smoothly despite being a VM. Since my laptop is more than 4 years old, it was giving some problems. Slowness mainly and a couple of other issues. Since Parrot OS was running so smoothly on VM I was sure that it will run even more smoothly on actual hardware. While searching for Linux distros I came to know about Zorin OS. I am not saying that Parrot OS is bad but Zorin OS is much more polished. Zorin OS 16 has come out recently and I decided to go with that and indeed it is truly great. The transition from Windows to Linux was very smooth. I was worried about the onboard hardware and would it be compatible with the new OS or not? If not, would I find drivers easily but everything (keyboard, trackpad, webcam, speakers, SDHC card slot, even the touchscreen) was working right out of the box. I did lose some of my data but that was my mistake. I was too eager to remove my backed-up data. It had nothing...

Fidget Cube Arriving In A Few Days 📦

This is the reason I haven't made this blog public. Writing after a month. Even more technically. As visible from the title, yes, my cousin has ordered a fidget cube for me. It will be arriving around the weekend and I am very excited about it. I think I will be using it a lot. Spiderman: No Way Home trailer also dropped a few weeks ago and it's going to be epic. I have watched Shang-Chi in the theatre. It felt very going back to the theatre after 1.5 years. I enjoy every process of it. Booking the ticket online --> Going to the theatre and watching --> Coming back. Although I did book the tickets for the wrong date so 1 ticket was completely wasted. At this point, I have received 2 months of salary and my bank balance is pretty decent now. Third-wave might hit soon now. There has been a spike in cases the past week and something tells me that it's coming. Hope I am wrong. I am planning a get-together with my cousins this weekend because if lockdown happens, it won...

Arrival of The First Salary 💰

It is finally here!! ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽ‰  It's the moment that I was dreaming about for a long time. I have been thinking of buying things and doing stuff with my first salary but now that it's here..... I don't know what I am going to do with it. At this very moment, my mother is talking to my sister regarding this, and my sister is joking about sending me a list of items that I should buy for her. The amount is not much. Some of it is yet to come. It will be there in the first week of August (hopefully). Even including the August amount, it won't be a very big total but something is better than nothing.  I am satisfied with it for now. My salary.....My own......MYYY PRECIOUSSSS..... (Sorry about that 👆. I am a huge LOTR fan.) I am thinking of gifting my cousin a licensed copy of the antivirus he uses. I know that the trial period is over. I also have thought about gifting 1 of my friend some brownies from a new shop near my house. Let's see how that goes. It's Friday toda...

🥇 First Post - What & Why Typical Parker Luck?? 🤔

My name is Aaditya Joshi. I am a fan of spiderman. I have also read some comics. It is a fact in the comics that peter parker cannot catch a break. Things do not go according to his plans no matter how carefully he plans them out. Something always comes up when he is relaxed or lets his guard down. Peter refers to this phenomenon in the comics as "Typical Parker Luck". Things like this happen to me all the time. A good thing does not last long. Plans get ruined. Sometimes simplest of things require 2 attempts to be done. But don't get confused, that is not what is blog is about. These things happen to everyone. It is not a sad blog consisting of things that I am not able to do. The above paragraph was just an explanation for the name. I needed a name and I selected this. THAT'S IT! This is just a normal blog. I do have a proper website for writing articles but here I will be writing just for fun. I won't be having a big audience. Might share the link with just a...
