2023 Starts
Its the first day of 2023. Nothing major has happened since the last time I wrote, but I might as well start the year with a quick post to maintain consistency.
Here is an update on some of the things I mentioned in previous posts:
ZORIN OS: It's been more than an year and I am still using zorin os. It will be my daily driver for a significant amount of time. It also received an update few months ago. I has made me more comfortable with linux and will continue to do so. It is built on ubuntu. Because of this, ubuntu is also now my favourite linux OS.
FIDGET CUBE: That cube sits on my office desk every single day. I play with multiple times a day. I take in meetings, randomly start fidgeting with it without even realising it. It also is a great conversation starter. People pick it up and ask what is it. Everyone seems sceptical at first but once they fidget with it, they get it (I hope). People on internet say it helps with anxiety but I don't care if it does or does not. I like to play with it, nothing else matters.
Those were the updates.
I have also started to use my Laptop as a server (I like to call it LaaS). Jellyfin works well on that. Even better than it worked on raspberry pi. I have completed my script of auto laptop charging. That script coupled with a smart plug, starts charging my laptop when it is below 20% and stops when it is above 80%.
Here is a screenshot of my LaaS dashboard. I am using heimdall for it.
Mohit sent me a link for hedgedoc which is selfhosted application for markdown based notes.
I am seeing that my laptop is hanging quite a lot since I have started Laas. I will monitor it more. Maybe it's the heat that's causing it. I will get my laptop cooler in month of feb and then I will decide whether to move forward with this or not.
