As I sat at my desk in the office on the morning of 24th January 2025, probably raising an MR, I got a message from my sister's husband asking " Comic Con mein jaane ka mann hai kya? " Immediately I replied with with " Kab? Kahan? ". Since I was in front of a screen already, I did a quick web search about this and knew the date, time, and place before he could even reply. 8th and 9th March 2025, Balewadi Stadium, Pune. I knew that from the past few years, Comic Con happened in India, but it was the first time happening in Pune. This meant I could actually go! I am fortunate to live mere minutes away from the Balewadi stadium, which made it feel like an unavoidable temptation. We decided to go for only one day as two days was not required and booked the tickets. Now the real question came to mind. " Should I wear a costume?" Although not strictly required, but either the Comic Con and the idea of dressing up go hand in hand, or I have watched...

Amidst the fumes of Lemongrass + Orange essential oils, I sit and type this post, completely relaxed. I have been dreaming of this since I was in Bengaluru. Precisely since the beginning of 2024 but the situations were not very good to me. I remember when I landed in Pune in August 2024, it had rained a little on the previous day and Pune never looked more beautiful. Still, coming back to Pune, getting adjusted to the new job with some toxic people was not easy and has taken around 6 months but now I am in a place where I can say that " things are going good ". I have noticed that I have a tendency to jinx such things so I am putting a lot on the line not just by saying it but by writing a full blog post about it. Oh well, let's see what happens. Unlike before, I look forward to weekends. Primary reason for this is because I go to office 5 days a week even though there are options to WFH for a few days in a month. Say what you will about this but I do like working in offi...

Happy new year from the desk of Aaditya Joshi 🙌. In most of my posts, I usually have an agenda around which I write. However, it's not the case with this one. I am writing freely in this. Since it's the first day of the year, I hope that by writing on this day, I would be motivated to write more this year. I don't want to know the details, but I hope that you have at least one new year resolution. Something that you want to achieve this year. Because I believe in things/plans getting jinxed, I will not share my resolutions here. Instead, I will share them at the end of the year, so I can evaluate my progress. Resolutions? You might ask. Plural? As in, more than one? Oh, yes. There is more than one. Am I being overly ambitious? Yes, there is no question about that, but I know myself very well. At the time of writing this, its 5:08 PM and I already have broken one of them. In order to achieve any measurable growth in the year, I have to take multiple as there is a strong cha...

This post is in direct continuation from my previous two posts Potlucks, Pedals and Parker (Chapter 1 of 3) and Potlucks, Pedals and Parker (Chapter 2 of 3) . Please read these before continuing with this one. _________________________________________________________________________________ I encountered more and more traffic. Every glance on my phone showed patches of red and already, I knew that this return journey will not be as smooth as it was a few hours ago. There are red cycle tracks made at places and I made full use of those. They certainly were smoother as compared to the normal roads. I needed to reach home on time because I wanted to practice making the honey chilly potatoes that I was going to bring in the potluck. Then came Baner-Pashan Road. It was a long stretch of a road. Given the time, it was surprisingly empty. On both the sides, there were expensive looking houses. The road was empty, and I gave in to its stillness, by speeding up my bicy...

This post is in direct continuation from my previous post Potlucks, Pedals and Parker (Chapter 1 of 3) . Please read that before continuing with this one. _________________________________________________________________________________ Perhaps the afternoon time frame was the reason I found very little traffic. With each pedal, I was covering ground. When I saw that I have to go straight for a while, I enabled pedal assist mode and everything became as smooth as butter. After a while, I reached Chaturshringi road. Not only the road was pretty empty, it also curved at times. By this time, I had completely switched to complete electric mode. As the road made a gradual turn, the smooth ride coupled with a soft wind ruffled my hairs back and automatically " 𝆕𝆕 Dhoom Machale 𝆕𝆕" played in my head. The first stop was Book World. FC Road was very crowded. Mostly student crowd. Once my bike was secured in the parking of the building, I descended the steps to the bas...

6th November 2022 was a wonderful day for me, not just because it was a Sunday, but because I had just come home after successfully placing an order for my electric cycle. A Hero Lectro C4. After about a year of contemplating, I had finally done it. Now, I was not completely dependent on one of my colleagues to pick me up and drop me to and from office. I had fun the next week showing it off to my colleagues and them taking turns to ride it. Strangers turning heads and examining it in the parking lot. It was and still is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. Fast-forward a month later, a potluck event was to be organized for our office team. Me and one of my colleague was given the responsibility to manage it. She and I talked to almost everyone about what they were going to bring to make sure there was a variety of items. Once everything was finalized, we sent an official invite to our team members on 7th December 2022. I myself decided to bring honey chilly...

Every-day carry (EDC) is a collection of useful items that are consistently carried on person every day. What is your EDC? I am assuming you have the common items with you like your phone, wallet, keys etc. These things can easily fit in our pockets, but we only have a limited number of pockets. What about other potential useful items that you would like to carry but cannot because your pockets don't allow you to. Simple answer to that is just carrying a small bag. The idea is to have everything you MIGHT need outside the home. I know that it is a simple and self-explanatory idea but how many of you actually do it? Has it ever happened to you that you had to buy a bottle of water from a shop just because you were too thirsty but did not carry one with you. You might have made a mental note to carry a bottle next time but did you act on it? The inspiration for this post came from 4 places. Here come the (3) pop culture references. Get ready: First one is “Hermione's Beaded Bag ”...

Let's start this post by a scene from the movie Sherlock Homes (2009). Sherlock, played by Robert Downey Jr. is blindfolded and taken to a place that is confidential. Stranger: "Mr. Holmes, apologies for summoning you like this. I'm sure it's quite a mystery as to where you are and who l am ?" Sherlock: " As to where I am...I was, admittedly, lost for a moment between Charing Cross and Holborn. But l was saved by the bread shop on Saffron Hill. The only baker to use a certain French glaze on their loaves. The carriage forked left, then right, a telltale bump over the Fleet Conduit. As to who you are, that took every ounce of my not inconsiderable experience. The letters on your desk are addressed to Sir Thomas Rotheram. Lord Chief Justice, that'd be your official title. Who you really are is, of course, another matter entirely. (my fav line) Judging by the sacred ox on your ring, you're the head of the Temple of the Four Orders in whose headquarters w...
